Embroidery is the process of stitching a design onto a garment or fabric using different coloured threads. A digital file is created from your artwork, (or artwork we can set up for your from your image reference.) The conversion to a digital file is called digitising, and the embroidery software then uses that file to tel the machines how and where to put each stitch, thereby making up the decoration.
The digital file for each design is programmed into the embroidery machine by our expert team of machine minders and instructs it to produce the pattern in stitches onto the item. Our job management system clearly details which logos are needed where, for each job.
Embroidered left or right chest logos generally use between 5,000-15,000 stitches to create your design. Sometimes the very intricate or large designs will have a bigger stitch count, and therefore a higher associated cost.
So, it's the number of stitches, number of thread colour changes involved, and the detail of the design will determine the length of time it takes to produce the design, and this is what dictates the cost of the digitising set up fee and also contributes to the cost per item calculation for decoration.
If you have different logos you'd like embroidered on your order, it will require a set up for each one.
To get the best results for each desing, a stabilising backing is applied to the inner part of each item when framing the items. There are multiple types of backing paper and choosing the most suitable one is based on the garment material, design style, and stitch count.
Some custom logos will have to be slightly simplified for us to acheive the best embroidery results for the finished product, and we will always talk through the best options.
